Unconscious Mind is a richly thematic and deeply strategic euro-style board game from Lucky Duck Games, designed for 1 to 4 players aged 12 and up. Step into the role of early 20th-century psychoanalysts working alongside Sigmund Freud to unlock the mysteries of the unconscious. With its elegant blend of worker placement, engine building, multi-rondel action selection, and combo chaining, this game delivers a truly immersive and intellectually stimulating gameplay experience.
🎮 How Do You Play Unconscious Mind?
In Unconscious Mind, players place "Idea" tokens (workers) on a central action board to perform actions such as:
- Adding tiles to their player board
- Drawing and playing cards
- Moving around a shared city map
Each Idea placed advances an inkpot along a rondel on your player board, activating rows or columns of effects. The game’s core also revolves around treating clients and interpreting dreams by managing “Insight” resources using a multi-layered rotating wheel system.
Players progress from surface-level manifest dreams to deeply rooted latent dreams, ultimately helping clients reach catharsis. This is represented by removing transparent overlays from client cards, unlocking powerful abilities and scoring potential.
Every decision counts, and chaining actions efficiently is key to success.
