They may be small, but these bees are certainly mighty. In this puzzle, spring has sprung and the bees are buzzing, but you may be surprised to learn that not all bees are the same. In fact, there are over 250 species of bees in the UK, from large fluffy bumblebees to the much smaller Honeybee.
This 1000 piece puzzle was illustrated by Fiona Osbaldstone. Born and raised in Kent, Fiona loved painting as a child and always painted her versions of Disney Characters. She always wanted to do something with art and went to the Kent Institute of Art & Design to see what the possibilities were. She was inspired by the works of David Shepherd and Norman Rockwell for their detail and diverse styles.
Fiona works mostly in watercolor, but can also do pencil or acrylic, depending on what is needed. Her style is realistic, but not photo-realistic; "I just like it to look the way it's meant to." Her work includes natural history, botany, people and scenes. Outside of the artistic realm, though not too far away, she enjoys pottery and makes and sells her own pieces, and she likes to photograph, as well as ride bikes, but is "not too good at it and invariably ends up in a ditch."
