The City Hall was built around the year 1200 but burned down almost completely in the year 1618. Only the tower "The Stone" was preserved. This tower was used as a prison and you can still visit it. The Town Hall is an example of the typical Dutch Renaissance style with its innumerable windows and characteristic red shutters.
