Bokken Schieten

Bokken Schieten is an original stroke game in which you try to collect as many goats as possible without exceeding the limit. You are dealt 8 cards at the beginning. Each player always plays 1 card, a stroke, face up on the table. The player who played the card with the lowest value draws a hill card and places it on the table, choosing 1 of the 2 values on it. The player who played the card with the highest value wins the battle and starts the next one. 

This continues until all cards have been played. The hill is finished after 4 turns and determines the goat limit. Whoever has collected the most goats after 8 turns and has not exceeded the goat limit wins the game. You can also choose to play multiple rounds and record the scores.

Bokken Schieten is a card game that 999 Games successfully released 15 years ago, but is now self-publishing in a new format. The game has more depth than you might think at first glance, and is also an excellent stepping stone to spicier hitting games such as Wizard and The Crew.
