Pick-a-Pen: Crypten

Pick-a-Pen: Crypts is a game from the Pick-a-Pen series by renowned author Reiner Knizia and contains score sheets of 3 ascending levels. On score sheets 2 and 3 you will find pencil symbols to cancel a turn and bonuses for squares in 1 color.

Complete as many rows and columns as possible in an ancient crypt, with some symbols earning you an extra turn! Always choose 1 of the rolled colored pencils and color the symbol indicated on the corresponding side. Depending on the chosen score level, you earn points in different ways.

You each have a score sheet of the same level, on which you color in symbols in an ancient crypt. The starting player first rolls all the pencils, each of which has a different color. On their sides are different symbols. These show which square you may color in that color on your score sheet.

On your turn, choose a pencil and color in the corresponding symbol. When doing so, you must always progress from left to right. When a row is full, you may color in a symbol of your choice. And if you color in a bold outlined symbol with the correct color, you may color in another symbol as a bonus. In this way you try to fill in as many rows and columns with the correct colors as possible. If you succeed, you may color in bonus points on your sheet. The game ends when one of the players has colored in all his squares.

The Pick-a-Pen series is a new generation of innovative Roll & Write games, in which real pencils are rolled. This allows for many different game mechanisms with the same playing material. But in each game, coloring in fields is central.
