Istanbul: Choose & Write is a board game developed by Pegasus Spiele and designed by Rüdiger Dorn. It is based on the original game Istanbul, but it is a standalone game that can be played without any prior knowledge of the original.

In this game, players take on the roles of merchants who are trying to collect rubies by navigating the bustling streets of Istanbul. Each player has a sheet of paper and a pencil, and they must choose their actions by writing them down on their sheet.

The game is played over a series of rounds, and on each turn, players must choose one of six action cards. The cards allow players to move their merchant, trade goods, get money, or buy and sell goods at the market. Once all players have chosen their actions, they reveal them simultaneously, and then carry out their chosen actions in turn order.

Players can also use their assistants to help them carry out their actions more efficiently, and they can acquire special abilities to gain an advantage over their opponents.

The game ends when a player collects a certain number of rubies, depending on the number of players. The player with the most rubies at the end of the game is the winner.
