Letterspelmat

Letter Playmat combines action and learning in a cheerful and fun game for children ages 5 and up. Playfully, children learn letters, sounds and words. The edge of the mat contains pictures of sound words consisting of 3 or 4 letters. In the middle are all the letters of the alphabet, but also double letters to make even more words. You can also spell words in different ways. For example, cow can be spelled with a k. o. and e but also with a k. and an oe. 

The spelling mat is specially designed from the need for instructive and educational toys that also directly stimulate children to action and movement, after all...sitting still THAT they do enough at school or at home on the couch with a tablet or in front of the TV.

The letter game mat is made of a strong but lightweight non-woven material and can be washed if it gets dirty. 
If used on a slippery floor, we recommend a non-slip mat or other rug to place underneath so that the mat sits firmly.

Game ideas with the letter game mat:

Basic Game Rules: Player 1 says a word of up to 4 letters/ sounds. (For inspiration: look at the pictures on the mat). Player 2 spells this word by placing the hands and feet on the correct letter/sound on the mat. If successful without falling, player 2 may say a word for player 1 (or player 3 if you are playing with more people). This is how you take turns!

Play in Teams: You can also play in teams of 2 players against each other. You then make the word on the mat in pairs. You can make longer words together!

Word Steps: Do you want to practice longer words? Then don't play with your hands and feet, but step from one letter/sound to the next!

Other language: You can also translate the words on the edge of the mat into English, for example. Owl = Owl, cow = cow, rope = rope. We have taken the design into account so that most of the symbols can also be translated into short English words.

Word story: If the word cow is mentioned first and player 2 stands without falling on the correct letters...then you can increase the challenge by making up a word related to cow, for example milk. Player 2 must then immediately make the word milk from his current position without falling. Continue like this until this player gives up, makes a mistake or falls and switch!

Guess the Word: Take a word in mind and run the word in the correct letter order. The other team or your opponent must then guess which word you walked.
