Bites is an engaging commodity speculation game by Allplay where players collectively move five ants along a picnic trail filled with food. Each player collects food tokens, aiming to have the most valuable collection by the end of the game. The value of the food is determined by the order in which the ants reach the anthill, creating a dynamic and strategic gameplay experience.
How is the game played? At the start of the game, a trail of food tokens is laid out leading to the anthill. On their turn, a player can move any ant to the next food token on the trail that matches the ant's color (e.g., the red ant to an apple). The player then takes the food token directly in front of or behind the ant, keeping it for end-game scoring. The value of each type of food is determined by the order in which the ants reach the anthill; the food corresponding to the first ant to arrive is worth the least, while the food of the last ant is worth the most. Additionally, players can collect chocolate pieces that allow for special actions, and wine bottles that provide bonus points. Variable rule cards ensure that each game is different, requiring players to adapt their strategies to the unique conditions of each session.
