For example, you can hire special heroes and start your journey with your personal animal sidekick. Heroes & Demons also comes with three new terrain tiles, new expedition cards and new cave tiles. Furthermore, this expansion has additional game rules. For example, there are now the demon cards, a type of punishment cards that take up space in your stack of expedition cards. You are also at risk of curses, which saddle you with demon cards or set your pawn back steps. Heroes & Demons can only be played in conjunction with The Quest for El Dorado.
