The Vampire Council is looking for a new city planner to transform Transylvania, the world's most legendary vampire city, into the world's newest technology paradise! You and your rivals are competing for a job that will require you to create a diverse cityscape for vampire and animal life, ensure enough blood banks for your citizens, secure contracts and bring on board the best specialists in the industry. The race is on to present to the Vampire Council the most organized plans for the city to renovate Transylvania into Siliconvania!

In SiliconVania, players bid on building tiles and specialists that provide one-time bonuses or points at the end of the game. Players take the building tiles they win and place them in their 4x4 city grid, juggling different scoring options and collecting vampire and pet dolls looking for living space!

Each round you must:
- Bid on a pair of building tiles to add to your grid. Be careful, because once they are there, they are hard to move.
- Bid on a specialty card for its ability and to get a new specialty card. Cards with stronger bids have weaker abilities, and vice versa.
- Deploy a specialty card to earn points, but in doing so you show your opponents which buildings you really need.

The game ends after eight rounds, after which everyone's city grid is full. You score points for having each of the seven types of buildings, a wide network of blood banks, and good housing for the vampire meples who bring your specialists to town. The vampires also want to make sure that all these technological advances don't destroy the biodiversity of their home, so you get points for having a variety of animals and animal meeples on your tiles.

Your specialists also provide special scoring conditions. Players will also compete to develop innovations, find artifacts and build castles and train stations to make their cities even more attractive to the emerging vampire population.
