Shogi has a long tradition in Japan.
The object of the game Shogi is to capture the opponent's king. The game pieces of the two players can be distinguished from each other by their direction of pointed side, not by their color. This shows which pieces each player controls at any given time.
Compared to chess, Shogi has charming differences and additional rules that make the game interesting. One key difference lies in the ability to capture and reuse game pieces. this means that the number of game pieces does not decrease during a game, allowing any player to suddenly gain an advantage at any time.

This Shogi set consists of a game board (26 x 26 cm) and 40 game pieces. The board is made of plywood and the field size is 28 x 28 mm.
