It is fun and important to talk to children. So ask questions like "How was school today?" or "What did you do this weekend? Unfortunately, these questions are by no means always thought-provoking enough to lead to a good conversation. But what should you talk about then?

These 50 philosophical questions get children thinking and provide an impetus for a different conversation; at home at the kitchen table or at school in the circle. You draw a card and the conversation can begin.

Each question can evoke several philosophical themes such as truth, time, friendship, identity, equality, freedom and much more. It doesn't matter which theme the conversation ends up with. Each card contains an illustration that supports the question and often gets you thinking already.

All the adult has to do is encourage the children to think further for as long as possible by questioning their answers, for example with one of the questions on the back of the cards.
