The set contains 8 references from the Model Air series in 17 ml format. Suitable for painting combat vehicles, trucks or artillery, as well as the camouflage schemes in use during WWII by the Region Esercito. The Italian Army did not have exact color charts, we know some shades and their names from written archives, the names of some defined references and with somewhat vague descriptions and isolated records in military museums, during rather rigorous restorations. Since the 1930s we already find disturbing camouflage schemes used in many Ansaldo designs on the dark green color as a base, or on the light green color used as a base since the 1940s, with patches of reddish sand or terracotta applied. The combinations developed into very elaborate patterns with up to four different shades, into amoeba-like schemes or into disturbing, sinuous shapes like shingles. We have relied on some well-preserved color photographs and the expert restoration of vehicles on display at the Saumur Museum to establish the nuances of the best-known shades.
