America in the 19th Century: You are a rancher and repeatedly drive your cattle from Texas to Kansas City, where you send them away by train. This earns you money and victory points. Needless to say, every time you arrive in Kansas City you want your most valuable cattle in tow. However, the "Great Western Trail" requires not only that you keep your herd in good condition, but also that you handle the various buildings along the trail wisely. It may also be a good idea to hire skilled personnel: cowboys to improve your herd, craftsmen to build your own buildings, or engineers for the important railroad.
If you manage your herd cleverly and navigate through Great Western Trail's opportunities and pitfalls, you're sure to score the most victory points and win the game.
Great Western Trail Second Edition
Great Western Trail is Alexander Pfister's critically acclaimed game about cattle ranching. The first game was already immensely popular, but this second edition is another level up! The changes in the second edition:
