Roll the two dice and choose one of them to mark boxes on your score sheet. Your opponents use the remaining die. You win if you manage to connect all the target symbols by crossing boxes. But not all target symbols are on the same side of your score sheet. Some are on the back side and can only be reached if you fold over the corners of the score sheet. To fold, you must first cross off enough smiley faces.
Dice Folding was co-developed by Carcassonne creator Klaus-Jürgen Wrede. Folding the vertices gives a unique twist to roll & write. Folding changes the playing surface, which you then have to continue playing on. The game contains four different levels of score sheets, each of which has its own characteristics. For example, the level "Slide" contains boxes with ice, on which you can slide by placing crosses. The level "Bend and deflect" has squares that serve as teleporters. Each level also contains a solo variant.
